I’m sure you’ve all heard the saying “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”
Well… that’s what Cory has been reduced to this week. After a mind-numbingly shredding good week last week, he finds himself alone again. And this time, under the pressure of being alone, listen to him CAVE to the TIME of the SEASON as he plays Christmas music.
Don’t worry. It won’t be your normal bubble-gum Christmas music. Come listen to some lesser-known songs or down right crazy Christmas music. You likely won’t hear these in your favorite family-friendly shopping establishment! 91.3 FM in Regina or on the world-wide-web(www).cjtr.ca
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… TO MELT YOUR FACE!!!
Ahem, but seriously though, who else is sick of Christmas music? Amirite??
To combat the sweet and saccharine sounds from every radio dial and retail store, we’re going to be playing brutal, heavy, vocal-agnostic NOISE for an hour late Tuesday night. Please tune in and see how many words you can recognize as ACTUAL words! 11:00 pm, 91.3 FM in Regina!
Benjamin Franklin once wrote; “in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”
Tonight, we homage this idea with the news of the sudden passing of Wayne Static. While not the most iconic front man in the nu-metal explosion of the late 90’s, he was definitely one of Cory’s favorites. It was a bummer to read the news late Saturday night, but we will have a more uplifting send off.
Also today is a major election day in the US… and while that doesn’t impact us too much in Saskatchewan we can still use it as an excuse to play some anti-political music to angry up the blood.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept of a Manatee Minute, it’s actually about 60 of your regular Earth minutes… that’s right, an hour every week, Tuesday at 11:00 pm!
Mosaic is right around the corner – this weekend in fact! Starting June 5 lasting through June 7, Regina hosts it’s annual festival to multiculturalism. 21 pavilions are available to explore and enjoy the entertainment… and the food, OH THE FOOD!!
Yes yes! It’s old man Cory’s birthday today. We’re not sure how many more of these he has left, being so terribly old, you see, so we might as well make the most of it while his back and joints are still holding in there.
Tune in tonight from 11:00 to midnight for a special Manatee birthday special, which will sound suspiciously like Manatee unbirthday specials, which are also somewhat special.
*None of Operation Manatee, its hosts, CJTR, Radius Comm, partners, affiliates, bystanders, playa hatas or ANYONE condones the actual use of heroin. Joking about heroin is okay for now, but under review by a panel of professional, b-list rock stars.
What’s happn’n Regina? It’s that time again – time for an hour of guided self-meditation through noisey music on your favourite Regina Community Radio.
Tune in from 11:00 to midnight tonight for all of the fun!
We here at Operation Manatee feel SO STRONGLY about our wonderful planet and all the various life-forms on it, we are taking the night off! Chris specifically has taken on a host of viruses and bacteria to take up residence in his upper sinuses! What a wonderful human being!
But in less-jokey news, yes, we are NOT going to be on CJTR tonight at our regular 11:00 pm time. But we should be back at the regularly scheduled time next week for that thing we love to do!
Until next week, continue to be well to each other and love your Earth today!
